PVR Wire blogging in TV Squad
But retiring a blog is never about the bloggers, and our hope is always to keep our writers with us in some capacity. In this case, PVR Wire matches up well with TV Squad, our destination for all sorts of television news and opinion, so the PVR Wire team is heading over there to continue its passionate survey of the PVR industry, its devices, and the joys of personal TV recording.
Look for your favorite PVR Wire writers here. You can grab the URL for bookmarking, and a dedicated RSS feed for your reader, as follows:

Thanks for reading, and thanks to our bloggers (Martin, Brad, Chris, JJ, and Matt) for their amazing work!

Well, hopefully Martin at least received a free Dell notebook from Microsoft ( labnol.blogspot.com/2006/12/bloggers-who-have-received-microsoft.html ) after the shameless over-hyping (pimping?) of Zune. That one even embarrassed this die-hard Microsoft fan.

4. The tvsquad/pvrwire bookmark for has two whole entries for January... somehow I think I'm going to have to look elsewhere for what I liked about pvrwire. It's a shame I only found the site a month and a half ago.

6. It makes no sense, IMHO, to have PVRWire (Hardware/software) under TVSquad (hows and personalities).
I am sorry to say but I don't think the 2 mix IN ANY WAY.
Bad mistake Guys, fess up and realise the error.
I happen to read both Blogs. But I do not want them mixed. Inevitably the tech stuff will get pushed aside.

8. I'm glad to see that PVR Wire will live on, at least in some way. I don't read TV Squad normally because I'm not into general television talk, but I've syndicated the filtered feed over on Live Journal (where I had done so with your old feed previously) as http://syndicated.livejournal.com/pvrwire2/ and I'll continue to read your posts. Just don't forget to tag them. ;-)

9. How does one subscribe to the PVR Wire section of TVSquad without getting the rest?
I use Google reader and it seems to be an "all or nothing affair". Unfortunately, if it is "all or nothing" I will probably select "nothing".

10. The tag does not seem to work as the last entry is Jan 24th. This is suing this link as posted in the article

Already it seems the PVR content is gone!

11. I think PVRWire should be brought back here where content can be found. If oversight/expenditure versus benefit is an issue, why not just cap posts per day/month and hand more editorial control over?

12. Ian-- the URL you posted does work. Click now, and you'll see a post by Martin Conaghan at the top of the page. We'll ramp up more today and next week.
Richard-- please use the links above (in the post) to separate PVR Wire's category from the rest of TV Squad.
Thanks!
13. Brad,
The link takes me to a "supposed" PVRWire Blog.
I say "supposed" because the last 3 items are dated:
January 8th
January 24th
February 2nd
You mean ONLY 3 items were posted iin the last month to PVRWire? What happened to everything else?
Something is still very wrong I fancy.

14. Hey guys, I'm the editor over at TV Squad. When I heard of PVR Wire's passing, I asked Brad to consider taking it over to TV Squad rather than have it totally go away. Whether that helped his decision or not doesn't matter -- PVR Wire lives on.
I'm a techie geek myself, and have always loved PVR Wire, so I want to see it done justice. TV Squad definitely isn't a gossipy site -- we talk about TV shows and TV news, but not catty, gossipy crap very often at all.
Some PVR Wire stuff will show on our front page, some won't -- it's a busy place. But you can always stick on that feed Brad mentioned if you're not interested in the rest of the site.
Seriously, if you've got any suggestions, comments, etc., feel free to send them along to "editors at tvsquad com".

15. Thanks Keith and thanks also Brad, for keeping PVRWire alive. It's an area I am very interested in, I like the blog and feel it will only get bigger. Thanks also for explaining what's happening.
If you read my above post the issue I am talking about is that the historic items do NOT appear on the new PVRWire specific link. I am concerned that this portensds to lost gistoric items and lost new items going fwd. Where have the many items gone? Look at this site versus the new link and you will see what I mean.
p.s. I also use TVSquad as well. Just mentally I like to separate the stuff:)

18. Gee...DV Guru, PVR Wire...thanks Weblogs, Inc. for shutting down all the blogs I read everyday. Now what will I do...watch TV? And when are you going to shutdown the other blogs like Cinematical and TVsquad...nothing beats consolidating huh.

1. I am glad the bloggers have found a new home at TV Squad but based upon my quick review of TV Squad the readers of PVR Wire are ill-served by TV squad. I don't really care much about TV gossip. My interests are in the technology and the companies that serve that technology. I expect I am not alone in the PVR Wire readership.
PVRWire RIP.
