3. It seems Comcast isn't very fond of www.killcomcastads.com Although I can connect to any other web page...Comcast High Speed is hooking me up with the "Cannot find server" error!

10. not only are banner adds an affront to easy navigation of the DVR guide, but since implementation of this, the remote controlling of their guide has suffered; ie: it 'hangs' more than before; plus is considerably slower ...what to expect for over 160 a month (privacy as well as service and efficient equipment ?). Now we have to pay extra for the upcoming TiVo overlay, which ought to be 'standard', or simply a normal GUI for the Motorola DVR would suffice.. too bad they don't focus on larger hard drive capacity and operational finesse rather than this kind of further commercial intrusion..

11. Keep the calls going. It looks like yesterday was a huge rollout of the ads. I started getting them in Portland. I called 1.800.Comcast and the rep said that is almost all the calls she he been getting today.

13. Yet another reason I cannot wait to get the hell off of Comcrap, they are also appearing in the philadelphia suburb region on my DVR. Isn't it nice that I pay comcast for the privledge of them sending me more advertising!

Currently I am waiting to see the prices of Cable Card Vista Media Centers when they release next week to determine if I go that way or if I go with a Tivo Series 3. then I am also curious about Direct TVs integration with Media Center / Vista Ultimate

15. The ads have been in Chattanooga, TN for a couple of months now too.

I bypass the ads by not using the guide button, but by pressing the up and down arrows which still shows three lines of listings. I then either enter the channel I want to see or press the page up or page down buttons to quickly scan the listings.

16. The ads have begun in Colorado as of this week. They did a pretty lengthy upgrade to the PVR a little over a week ago causing a complete shutdown at midnight which took roughly 30 minutes. Now the whole thing is slower, sometimes fast forward and rewind don't work, and I'm at the point where dealing with it is all I can do.

17. I'm right there with Brian, the ads are definitely here in Colorado. Just do what I do......Whenever I get a free moment I call and complain and will continue to do so for the next couple of weeks, then I'm going to cancel my service if they aren't gone. The way I see it, if enough of us tie up the phone lines as much as possible, the financial benefit of the ads will decrease because of the added time the reps are on the phone with us. It makes sense to me anyway.

18. I live in PDX and we got the ads for about 2 days in august i think it was. They went away and we havent seen them since. I absolutely hate them! They take up a 1/4 of the screen and remove a line of guide! When we pay this much for digital cable one would think we wouldnt have to suffer through these.


AGH! Cant wait for the TiVO interface, hopefully its a little bit better and doesnt have this garbage!

19. They are in California as well. I also had received the banner ads last year sometime and called to complain. They were shortly removed at that time and I was relieved. Now it seems they are back and just as annoying. I will definately be calling again to complain, several times if need be, and possibly be cancelling my service if they continue.
