I'm probably a bit late with this one, as I've noticed several reports on my travels, but TiVo has announced that it plans to enter the Chinese market later this year. The move is probably more to do with strengthening TiVo's public image, rather than trying to build a market, even though China is one of the world's fastest growing economies at present.
Still it'll be interesting to see how they perform and what products they plan to offer to the Asian market.

1. TiVo partially owns/controls a company called TGC (for TiVo Greater China) which has been running for awhile now. Several months ago they launched a box and service in Taiwan. The recent news is about them expanding into mainland China. Not sure what their goals are, but you're right the Chinese consumer market seems to be growing quickly. A few of us have speculated on the TGC hardware being similar to and/or a precursor to the US DT box. Megazone saw it in person at CES.
